ACVR2B-Fc Fusion Protein
ACE-031 is a soluble form of activin receptor type IIB (ACVR2B) fused to an Fc domain. Studied as a myostatin and activin pathway inhibitor in skeletal muscle mass and neuromuscular disease research.
ACE-031 (sotatercept precursor analog) is a recombinant fusion protein consisting of the extracellular domain of activin receptor type IIB (ACVR2B) linked to a human IgG1 Fc region. By acting as a ligand trap, ACE-031 sequesters myostatin (GDF-8), activin A, GDF-11, and other TGF-β superfamily ligands that negatively regulate skeletal muscle mass. It is studied in research models of muscle wasting, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy, and sarcopenia. ACE-031 has been investigated in clinical trials for its ability to increase lean muscle mass and bone mineral density through ACVR2B pathway inhibition.
